Unprofessional

The relocation from this company in Canada Brytor, and in Spain AGS ( giving 2 emails with the people I worked with chandra@ims.brytor.ca

and sebastian.alvarado@ags-globalsolutions.com) was the worst experience of my life. I am not sure and still thinking that this is was a SCAM. I was misguided on many occasions and documents, so I was told, to customs in Spain were submitted by Chandra without my consent. She even estimated the value of my shipment and submitted it on my behave without my consent. The last document being Dirigido al actuario de la Aduanav (Addressed to the Customs Actuary) was delayed by a month due to me receiving the wrong information from Sebastian Alvarado and him being on holiday. There was no one to assist me, finally a family friend a layer formatted the document and it was accepted. I asked on many occasions if I should involve a lawyer in. the process, but was not never given a definite answer.

There are many other details about my move such as in case of delay, the storage would be only 100 Euro a month (and I have emails from Chandra on this) at the end, I ended up spending 7500 Euro just to have my personal belongings and my car released. Since my items were already in storage for 2+ months, I had to pay import taxes in Spain on my car which could have been avoided if everything had been done on time.

I have many other issues with both people I worked with on my relocation, if you have any questions, you can contact me directly via DM. I would suggest avoiding both companies and both of these individuals, (Chandra and Sebastian Alvarado) if you are thinking of relocating to Europe. I should have taken the reviews of both companies seriously but I was driven by the relocation price. Their rating is very low and please take them seriously, because they are real. I won't say anymore as I will be taking these companies and individuals to court as soon as I am back in Canada.

Do your research and IGNORE AGS and ims.brytor.ca in your relocation selection.

Thanks for listening.

Move from Canada to US

I have trusted Brytor as they are highly recommended by my friend. I chose them for the move from Canada to US. The cost is high but I went ahead with them to put my mind in peace for this stressful relocation with a trust that they will take care of everything.

My Furnitures arrived seriously damaged. Very poor quality of packaging, most of them just covered by a thin layer of plastic. Furniture placed upside down and caused serious scratches. Scratches, lost of pieces on edges, dents...The delivery crew said sorry to me and explained this is all due to the terrible packaging!

I raised this to Brytor and my case was quickly closed. I was blamed by Brytor that I don't have insurance coverage. The fact is, Brytor didn't even mention this at all for the entire time and I assumed that the shipment is expected to deliver at full value. In addition, the damage caused by poor packaging, should that not be taken care by Brytor?

Brytor claim team responded very fast and closed my case with nothing...!!!

Dear Jing Liu,
We understand your frustration and are sorry for the damages incurred. However, as stated in the terms you accepted, protection during transport was not included. A basic protection plan was offered as a goodwill gesture, but it does not cover a full replacement. We attempted to contact you but have not received any further response. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Reasonable service, reasonable cost, met my expectations

I paid Brytor to ship a 1 bedroom apartment from the United States to Canada. They provided an initial estimate of $3,100 USD. I paid this before they arrived for the pickup. During the pickup, I asked them to take some extra items that were not in my estimate. I paid an additional $700 USD, which I felt was reasonable. My items arrived in Canada in a few weeks and I completed customs acceptance. One month from the initial pickup, they delivered my items and there was no significant damage.

Overall I was satisfied and would recommend people consider this service.

Want to give zero stars. Terrible experience

Packers did a great job but there it ends. The rest of our experience has been a nightmare. We left Canada to return to the UK as my mum was unwell. Once we had left we were advised that our shipment volume was 35% more than estimated and that they wouldn't arrange a container till we paid. They would not justify the several different measures and costs they sent us. We felt we had no choice but to pay as they had everything we owned including paintings by my late father. They then reminded us about insurance but sent no policy. Final straw was they said we hadn't given them a destination till after they packed though we sent proof that we sent it early the month before. This was followed by the appointment of an English partner six hours from here who charged us £750 more to deliver our possessions stating this was because they could not get a 40 foot container to the door so we needed to pay for trucks. How many addresses can a 40ft container easily park outside without causing chaos. The men who delivered our things were generally rude and moany. We challenged this extra charge but were advised by a manager to pay then raise a claim. They didn't respond fully to our complaint and only partly did so when we complained to a central body. We experienced poor Comms with emails about us sent to us in error and emails about other customers also sent to us despite my flagging this breach. I initially wrote a glowing review as the packers were great but for the first time in my life l took it down. Again writing a negative review is a first for me but this has really upset us and cost us a lot of money beyond the initial quote. An awful experience at an already stressful time. To avoid. Wish we had read the reviews more widely. Seen other examples of excessive charging.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

If a bunch of dishonest and vindictive people got together to run a business, that'll be the team at Brytor International movers. A year after we unfortunately enlisted their services to ship our belongings from Europe, we're still recovering from the unfortunate circumstances they created, including the loss and damage of our property and no responsibility being taken beyond a passive-aggressive "go to hell" message from them every single time. They delayed delivery of our belongings by several weeks without ANY ONE taking responsibility or explaining to us until, out of great worry, we followed up several times to have anyone account for our belongings and give a nee delivery date. It finally arrived after 8 months of contracting them with a lot of items either missing or damaged. They'd told us during the painfully prolonged process of agitating the dishonest additional charges they levied after thier inept team picked up our belongings. They threatened to destroy our belongings and kept very true to that "promise", and although we had insurance on the shipment, we were told to go figure. These are the ABSOLUTE WORST set of garbage people that are well trained in dishonesty and a very clear lack of integrity or empathy. The only way I envision getting them taking any kind of responsibility is by going through the legal process, which we intend to do, as no one should ever have to deal with the clear lack of accountability and honest working standards.

Avoid, as simple as that

We should have read more reviews before we agreed to contract with Brytor, we would have avoided all the misery and extra 'costs' that followed for our trans Atlantic move.

Initial experiences through the planning and packing activities were good. However, the moment they had all of our possessions and we flew out of Canada, the problems started.  We were told the volume of our possessions was 35% higher than estimated driving our costs up in proportion.   We challenged the number, and they could not and would not justify it, they even offered a detailed breakdown of a 10% increase but insisted we pay 35% more.  They refused to discuss and frequently stopped communicating.  1 month after we left, we 'settled' by paying an additional 20% to release our possessions.   We felt like we had paid a ransom demand.  We chose to buy transit insurance but struggled to get any details of what it covered or even confirmation that we were insured, 8 weeks after packing, our container was shipped to the UK.   At this point, we were told that there would be additional costs to deliver our possessions, as the quote assumed a truck could deliver the 40ft container directly to our front door.  We had never been asked about this or had this explained. It was unreasonable to make this assumption, however true to form Brytor accepted no responsibility for the issue and made us pay a large sum of money before they would collect it from the port. It was made clear that if we didn't pay we would be charged storage at the port on a daily rate.  We paid, as we had no choice, and our items were delivered by an inadequate team who constantly complained (too cold, too wet, too much stuff, too heavy etc).  I ended up carrying a lot of the items myself.

We got our stuff eventually, after a slow and painful process, with costs that grew significantly,  no meaningful customer service and very poor communication.   We made a formal complaint afterwards, but unsurprisingly, it was dismissed. Looking at other reviews, we are far from alone, and our experience is far from the worst. Avoid.

Official company response

Dear Kevin,
We fully understand the difficulties you faced during the delivery, particularly regarding the additional cost due to unforeseen location complexities that led to a necessary change in the initial plan.
While we strive to anticipate all potential obstacles, It is important to note that some additional costs related to difficult access or unforeseen obstacles during the delivery process are ultimately the responsibility of the customer, as stated in our terms and conditions.
We value your feedback and appreciate your understanding.

Dissatisfied overall, recommend you look elsewhere

We hired Brytor for an international move in summer 2023 and the process proved more expensive, longer and more stressful than we were lead to believe. Twice we were presented with significant additional charges with no notice or explanation and we were constantly having to chase after our move coordinator for information on the status of our shipment. They're estimated 4-6 week delivery time ended up being 3 months.

Dear Snow,

We understand the frustration caused by the delays in your shipment. While we take full responsibility for ensuring your shipment arrives safely, unfortunately, unforeseen challenges with shipping line availability and capacity can cause delays.
It’s important to emphasize that due to our dependence on shipping lines, we can't guarantee specific dates and times. However, we always strive to provide the most accurate estimates possible and keep you updated throughout the process.

Shipment from Ontario Canada to Geneva, Switzerland.

The transportation was done seamlessly in a very professional, competent and timely manner; leaving me greatly impressed with the care and attention they showed towards my belongings. In the light of my experience, I have no hesitation in recommending them to all movers.

Simply a nightmare...

Absolutely not satisfied, I recommend you look elsewhere.

We hired Brytor for an international move in summer 2023. They preferred to check my stuff only by facetime; as a result, the move was more expensive than offered because I had to use a bigger container and I had to pay the extra cost for their wrong assessment! Moreover, some pieces of furniture were broken and they didn't want to pay for them! Totally BS.....

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $15000

Official company response

Dear Gabriele,

We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. Regarding the estimate, it was based on a preliminary assessment of the volume, as explained in our general terms and conditions. The final volume may vary, which can result in cost adjustments.

For fragile or valuable items, we strongly recommend using custom crating services to ensure optimal protection during transit. Additionally, choosing an appropriate protection plan can ensure coverage in case of damages, helping to avoid any disappointment regarding refunds.

Your satisfaction is our top priority. We are available to review your case and work toward a suitable solution. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.

Best regards,
The Brytor Team

Smooth operations, all as planned

All went well from the quote to the actual moving, and quite rapidly for that. For a move from Canada to Finland

Contacted them in early march 2024 for a moving in early april 2024 and we got everything in order and received my belongings at destination in late may.

The sale representative was helpful and cleared every questions and doubts I had about the costs, and the process.

The moving team arrived on time, made sure that I had everything packed properly, and even provided additional protection for items that I was worried about.

The contact they chose for the duty clearance and delivery at destination were also very friendly and made sure that all my belonging were in good shape before signing off.
